The sculpture Oliver, by Tracey Gutherie, stands atop the park’s hill. The work is a symbolic allusion to the Greek mythology of Atropos and her sisters Clotho and Lachesis, who were responsible for human destiny. The sculpture is a tool-surfaced cast bronze. Oliver was dedicated as a continuing plea to city fathers for support of the free shows at Miller Theatre. This unique place is a must-see!

The park also features a small, grove-like memorial to the renowned poet Tagore. This unique free and open-air Memorial represents a global vision of universalism, befitting Houston’s most diverse city.
Other popular features of the park include soccer, little league, and softball fields, tennis courts, and several gazebos with tables. There is also a large playground area, a picnic pavilion, and a 0.64-mile trail.

Located at 1800 Eldridge Parkway, Ray Miller Park is a great park for walking. It has a lot of room and a trail. There are also lots of big trees and two play structures with fun windows under them. This is a very family-friendly park.
The trails at this park offer views of the lake and other wildlife. During your walk, you may see herons and bald eagles. There is also a paddling trail on Lake Ray Hubbard. This trail is suitable for canoes and kayaks, but please note that strong winds are often a factor in this lake.
The community of Briar Village is diverse, and the local parks are no exception. The neighborhood is home to Archbishop Fiorenza Park, Ray Miller Park, and Terry Hershey Trail, and it hosts a number of seasonal events.
