For a lot of people, “the most wonderful time of the year” isn’t complete without a real Christmas tree. But while they’re lovely to look at, they don’t come without a unique set of challenges.
Should some tree sap get on your carpet, don’t panic! The trick to removal is hardening the sap so you can chip away at it and lift it from the carpet fibers.
Some people use ice to harden the sap, but we find that takes too long, plus the ice melts. Instead we recommend soaking a paper towel or cloth in either rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer and gently dabbing it on the sap. Don’t rub! That will just make the problem worse. Once the sap has hardened, carefully lift it from your carpet and get back to the festivities!
